Leaving early

The situation on the ground in Tokyo remains calm. Public and private organizations are back to work. Public schools are open. We are welcoming students whom want to study or gather at KCP lounges, computer rooms, or classrooms. While class is not in session today, all KCP faculty and staff are back to work. Our students appear to be doing well.

However, we recognize that many parents and students might be very nervous about current news events in Fukushima and from news coverage of the tsunami affected areas. We are working with our university sponsors and affiliates to provide partial credit for courses taken at KCP if a student needs to voluntarily return home early. Grades would be based on your cumulative total at the end of last week.

Most students whom leave early should receive 10 semester credits for our language class, and 2 for our culture course. Of course, it is the decision of each sponsor or affiliate school to determine if they will accept this reduced credit, but discussions so far remain positive.

Again, if you feel it is essential for you to leave Japan this week, please contact our KCP campus and let them know your plans. Thank you.
