The culture classes were great.

Jack from Summer 2016

Which events or activities did you find the most satisfying and why?

The culture classes were great.

What were the most productive and interesting aspects of the program for you? The least interesting and productive?

Most: Being able to hang out at school before/after class, the teachers going out of their way to offer help with studies but also just generally living in Japan. Least: The Speech Contest was fun, but it also interfered with a lot of the club activities.

What activities or materials did you find most helpful (e.g., pair work, drill practice, tests, small group sessions, textbooks, games)?

Roleplaying games. The textbook problems and drill practice felt less engaging and kind of boring, but I enjoyed anything that let us be a little creative in our responses.

Where did you reside over the course of this program?

Dormitory

Where did you live?

Tanashi

Were you pleased with the general living arrangements? Anything you especially liked? Any problems you experienced?

It was great living with other students! It opened up so many opportunities, and I loved living in Tanashi. The only downside is that most of my fellow dorm mates left at the end of the summer short term, and it was comparatively lonely once that happened. There weren't many of us left.
