What are the GPA requirements for KCP?
KCP International Japanese Language School has GPA requirements that vary depending on your educational background and how you plan to attend the program.
While academic performance is important, KCP also considers your overall readiness for an intensive Japanese language immersion experience and may review applications on an individual basis.
GPA Requirements for College Students
Students applying through one of KCP’s university partners generally need a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75.
However, admissions decisions are not based solely on overall GPA. Because KCP is an academically rigorous Japanese language program, stronger performance in Japanese language courses may be given greater consideration than grades in unrelated subjects.
GPA Requirements for Recent High School Graduates
Recent high school graduates who:
- Are 20 years old or younger
- Have not attended college
- Are applying directly to KCP or through a sponsor university
must submit a high school transcript showing a minimum GPA of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale.
Requirements for Adult Learners
Adults who are 21 years of age or older and are applying directly to KCP do not need to submit a transcript as part of the application process.
Does KCP Ever Make Exceptions?
In some cases, KCP may consider exceptions to GPA requirements. Applications are reviewed individually, and factors such as academic motivation, Japanese language performance, and readiness for intensive study may be taken into account.
