Bryce from Summer Short 2019

Which events or activities did you find the most satisfying and why?

I enjoyed getting to explore the recreation of the old Japanese village, and wish I could have had more time to explore there.

What were the most productive and interesting aspects of the program for you? The least interesting and productive?

One of the most interesting aspects of the program for me was being able to see so many new and interesting sights I would have never seen if I had not gone on the trip. However, I hope that the next time the school makes tickets for the train, they try to avoid making students go through Shinkiba station every morning.

What activities or materials did you find most helpful (e.g., pair work, drill practice, tests, small group sessions, textbooks, games)?

I enjoyed the pair and group sessions the most.

Anything you especially liked in the living arrangements? Any problems you experienced?

I liked how kind and helpful the landlord and his wife were during my stay.

What dorm did you live in or host family did you live with?

Minami Kasai dormitory in Shinjuku, Japan

Any comments or tips for prospective/new KCP students?

Be sure to take new paths and routes whenever possible in order to find all the interesting sights you can.

Testimonials

KCP is a great program because of what it has currently. Great teachers, with a good curriculum, allows for a superior learning opportunity and is the main reason why KCP’s students are great at Japanese.
