KCP Winter 2017 Try Their Hand at Cooking Japanese Food
Traditional Japanese cuisine is a combination of staple foods available in the region. Usually it includes white rice with one or more side dishes and main dishes, sometimes served with miso soup and pickles. Japanese food has had strong influences from Korea and China for thousands of years. It was only in the last few hundred years that foreign trade, religion, and Western influence made any impact on traditional Japanese fare and made it into what we now know it to be.
Every term, each group of KCP students tries their hand at Japanese cooking class as part of their course studies. This gives them an opportunity to learn how to cook Japanese cuisine and at the same time get to taste the unique flavors of Japan.
